Death Stranding's E3 Trailer Wasn't Running on Horizon Zero Dawn Engine

Hideo Kojima has confirmed the Death Stranding trailer shown during last week’s The Game Awards show was indeed running on a PS4.

Speaking to IGN, Kojima revealed “The Death Stranding trailer we showed at TGA was running in real time and in 4K on PS4 Pro.”

While this new teaser was on a PS4, Kojima clarified that the previously-shown E3 announcement trailer was created before Kojima Productions settled on Guerilla Games’ Decima engine for Death Stranding, meaning the E3 video was not running in Decima and isn’t indicative of the final game.

“The collaboration [with Guerilla Games] started later…” Kojima said. “The teaser we showed at E3 was in a different engine.”

In January 2016, Kojima and PS4 system architect Mark Cerny traveled all over the world visiting developers in search of...

Spider-Man: Homecoming Star Tom Holland Calls Vulture's Debut 'Like a Horror Movie'

The Vulture apparently makes quite the initial impression in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Peter Parker himself Tom Holland talked to USA Today about the villain’s debut. “The first time we see the Vulture is terrifying,” he said. “It’s like a horror movie: really scary, very intense and shocking.”

Birdman star Michael Keaton will portray the Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming, also known as Adrian Toomes. Director Jon Watts explained that he’ll be a different kind of bad guy.

“It’s fun to think that if Spider-Man is a regular kid who becomes a superhero, there’s got to be a bunch of regular guys who become supervillains, too,” Watts said.

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7.

Star Wars, Hannibal Actor Mads Mikkelsen Confirmed for Kojima's Death Stranding

At The Game Awards tonight, actor Mads Mikkelsen was confirmed to appear in Kojima’s upcoming PS4 exclusive Death Stranding.

Mikkelsen has been rumored for some time and joins Norman Reedus, who was revealed in the game’s initial teaser at E3.

While he’s perhaps best known for starring as the title character in the television series Hannibal, you’ll be able to see Mads Mikkelsen next in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which hits theaters on December 16th.

Andrew is IGN’s executive editor of news and will never be able to picture Mads Mikkelsen as anyone other than Hannibal. You can find him rambling about Spelunky and cute animals on Twitter.

Mass Effect: Andromeda Won't Feature Every Species From the Original Trilogy

BioWare has confirmed that not every species players encountered in the original Mass Effect trilogy will be featured in Mass Effect Andromeda.

Speaking with Game Informer, creative director Mac Walters explained that while not every alien race from the Milky Way Galaxy that was established in the first three games will be making it to Andromeda, the studio isn’t ruling out the possibility of them appearing in future installments.

“We’ve designed the IP in such a way that they can all show up,” Walters said. ”For hopefully obvious reasons, they’re not all going to show up in the first game.”

For a detailed overview of what we currently know about Andromeda, including details on the story, main characters, and confirmed species – that’ll be humans, asari, turians, krogans and salarians s...

Overwatch: Evidence of Christmas Event and New Mode Found

A new mode and Christmas event could soon be coming to Overwatch, if recently discovered sound files for the game are any indication.

The files, which were posted by Reddit user Venxa, include clips for new hero interactions, as well as a Christmas jingle, which NeoGAF user Nirolak notes is likely for a holiday-themed event.

An Arena mode could be on the way as well, with several new announcer lines for Athena surfacing, including ones for “Now entering the arena” and “Gladiator.” There’s also a sound clip, which, the person who discovered the files suggests, could be the loading music for this new mode.

Blizzard’s hero shooter is no stranger to holiday-themed events, as Overwatch celebrated Halloween in festive fashion just last month. The game also just received a batch of new co...
